I built a quiz, and it's not about which Disney princess you are

👋 Hey lovely travellers,

I've been sitting on this one for a while, and it's finally ready. I built a quiz. Not a "which Disney princess are you" quiz, a proper one, based on the stuff that actually determines whether your family holiday goes smoothly or ends in tears at an airport gate.

🧭 Find Your Family Travel Type

I asked myself what really separates a great family trip from a stressful one, and it's not the destination. It's things like how much logistics chaos you can tolerate, whether everyone needs a slow morning or can hit the ground running, and what you're each secretly hoping to get out of it.

Eight quick questions later, you'll get a personality type (not a destination, that bit's a surprise) that tells you exactly how your family likes to travel, and a five day plan built for exactly that style waiting in your inbox.

🎯 Take the quiz and find out your family travel type →

🧠 Family Travel Tip of the Week: Plan Around Your Actual Family, Not Your Instagram Feed

The biggest holiday mistakes I've made were planning the trip I wished I wanted, not the one that suited us.

⭐ If nobody in your house does mornings, don't book the 7am tour
⭐ If your kid needs two anchors a day max, don't plan five
⭐ If pram versus cobblestones keeps you up at night, pick the destination that doesn't ask that of you

Know your family's actual travel personality before you book anything. Which, conveniently, is exactly what the quiz above is for.

❤️ Thanks for being here

Whatever type you turn out to be, I promise there's no wrong answer. Just a holiday that actually suits how your family works, rather than how you think it's supposed to look.

See you next Thursday,
Emma

👋 Hey lovely travellers, Every year around this time my inbox fills up with the same question: where should we actually go for the Christmas holidays. So instead of answering it one at a time, here’s my shortlist. Warm, kid-friendly, and not fully booked out yet (probably). 🌞 Christmas Getaway Shortlist 🇲🇹 Malta With Kids: Everything You Need to Know Small enough to not feel overwhelming, warm enough for proper beach days, and quiet enough in December that you won’t be fighting the whole of...

👋 Hey lovely travellers, Two classic Sydney escapes, properly covered this time instead of just a quick mention. The Blue Mountains gets the deep dive it deserves, and Hunter Valley gets an honest “yes, even with kids” verdict. 🚗 Blue Mountains & Hunter Valley 🏔️ Things to Do in the Blue Mountains with Kids My answer to “is it worth visiting with kids” is yes, full stop, no caveats. Flat lookouts right next to the car park, a theme-park-style day at Scenic World, and enough variety to build...

👋 Hey lovely travellers, We’re closing out the French Riviera series with the two towns everyone asks about and forgets to actually visit: Monaco and Grasse, plus the hilltop village I somehow haven’t sent you yet. 🌍 French Riviera: the last stops 🎰 How to Have the Perfect Day Trip in Monaco Yes, with kids. Pay less than two euros, hop on a bus, and you’re in another country within the hour, novelty alone usually buys you good behaviour for at least twenty minutes. The Oceanographic Museum is...
